The 2020 Honda Civic Hatchback returns with an updated interior and exterior styling, as well as a revised sport trim that adds Smart Entry and an upgraded Display Audio System which includes Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The top edition, Sport Touring, is now available with a 6-speed manual transmission for the first time ever.
Exterior and Interior Updates
Exterior styling refreshes to the 2020 Civic Hatchback include a revised lower bumper fog light housing, which now feature a body-colour crossbar. The signature Honda “wing” grill crossbar is also updated, and the headlights now feature a sporty blackout treatment. The lower bumper also receive similar changes to the front end, with a new body-colour crossbar. All trim-levels feature new wheel designs in either dark grey or black. Sport Touring trims will benefit from improved LED headlights with wider and longer beams.
The interior of the 2020 Civic Hatchback vary based on trim levels. The Sport trims receive a new geometrical pattern, and the LX and EX have a new painted pattern. The EX-L and Sport Touring have an exclusive brushed black treatment. The EX now has an 8-way power driver’s seat, replacing manual seats in the previous year, as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. The Sport Touring trim now has HondaLink and the option of a 6-speed manual transmission.
This year’s changes include the addition of Honda Sensing safety suite standard on ALL trim levels. These systems received multiple usability updates as well as enhancements to the technology and connectivity. Other changes included a new centre console cup holder that holds larger beverages better and an updated electronic parking brake with an indicator light.
Sport and Sport Touring Trims
The Sport trim receives a host of changes for the 2020 model year. The upgraded 7-inch touchscreen Display Audio system with 8 speakers and Apple Carplay and Android Auto now come standard on Sport Trims. Smart Start pushbutton ignition and and Smart Entry keyless entry are now standard for improved ease of use. Sport trims with the CVT transmission will also come with remote start for the first time. Additionally, Sport receives new seat upholstery that is unique to the Sport trim with a new embossed dash. For the top of the line Sport Touring model, buyers now have the choice of either CVT automatic or 6-speed manual transmissions.
