Honda Fit displays its 5 stars

The Honda Fit has just been awarded the highest security ranking, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has indeed granted it the 5-star rating, the highest in automotive safety.

To achieve this level of excellence, a car must demonstrate its ability to ensure the safety of its occupants in a frontal collision, side, or in the event of a rollover. Electronic security systems also contribute to improving the ranking. These are all situations that the little Honda Fit managed to surpass successfully, which allowed it to be rated BEST SAFETY PICK by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) and an NCAP 5 Star NHTSA overall rating is for the vehicle in 2015.

"The Fit shows that opting for a smaller car does not mean compromising on space, comfort or safety", said Dave Gardner, Senior Vice President, Operations at Honda Canada Inc. "Honda's commitment to the safety of our customers and other road users prevails over everything and the Fit demonstrates eloquently".

A dynamic car

The little Honda Fit was completely redesigned last year. It thus benefits from a new platform that is shorter but more conducive to improving handling. This platform will also serve as the basis for the small HR-V, a brand new mini crossover expected in 2015.

Under the hood of this small Fit, a 4-cylinder 1.5-liter engine offers 130 horsepower. A marked increase in the face of the previous generation who had 117 horses. Moreover, we feel this new power when accelerating. To pass this new power to the wheels, a continuously variable automatic transmission whose effectiveness is recognized is available.

While it is true that small cars are primarily a rational purchase that are chosen for their maneuverability and low fuel consumption, the Honda Fit also sets itself apart from its main rivals by offering quite of bit of interior flexibility and comfort. How? Through a system called Magic Seat.

Simply stated, the Fit offers interesting cargo space for a car of this size. And as the two rear seats fold completely flat, the Fit can haul cargo that you wouldn’t normally expect to see in a small subcompact. The real find, however, is that these seats can be raised up and forward, giving the illusion of not having second row.

Affordable, safe, fun to drive and fuel efficient, the Honda Fit adds to its long list of qualities with its amount of interior space. Not bad for a subcompact. Come drive it today at Civic Motors!
