Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid is coming in 2017

Honda recently announced the arrival of a new plug-in hybrid in 2017 called the Honda Clarity. But that's not all, Honda also indicated that a completely new and exclusively hybrid model which will be built in North America would be launched in 2018.

These two models are part of Honda's strategy to significantly increase its sales of partially electric models by 2030. In addition, Honda has announced that half of the new models launched over the next two years will have a hybrid powertrain.

We do not have much information on these new hybrid models, but we know that the hybrid model will the Honda Accord Hybrid’s engine and setup. In the midsize sedan, this engine features an average fuel consumption rating of only 5.8 liters per 100 kilometers.

“Today, Honda Canada announced that its new product launch cadence would reflect the U.S. strategy as we prepare to introduce all-new alternative fuel vehicles to the Canadian market,” said Jean Marc Leclerc, vice president, sales and marketing, Honda Canada Inc.
