2015 Honda HR-V – Sleek styling, spacious and versatile interior

''The 2015 Honda HR-V will go up against rivals like the Buick Encore, Nissan Juke, and Subaru XV Crosstrek but Honda’s new model is bound to hold its ground. ''

This winter, Honda is expanding its lineup with the addition of a small Sport Utility Vehicle. Based on the redesigned Fit hatchback, the sleek and expressive-looking all-new 2015 Honda HR-V is built on the same global platform that underpins the Honda Fit, and will offer a roomy and versatile interior, in addition to being more affordable than the CR-V.

“Both Fit and HR-V demonstrate how great things can come in small packages, and no one does this better than Honda,” mentioned Dave Gardner, the vice president of sales and marketing for Honda Canada Inc.

For first-time buyers and Honda enthusiasts that are searching for the perfect small SUV, there is quite a bit of competition in the market. The 2015 Honda HR-V will go up against rivals like the Buick Encore, Nissan Juke, and Subaru XV Crosstrek but Honda’s new model is bound to hold its ground.

The exterior styling is already enough to attract consumer attention, especially when considering the expressive character lines, sharp headlights, and the nicely styled wide and slightly U-shaped grille. With the hidden rear door handles, the 2015 HR-V seems to offer something of a coupe-like presence.

The automaker’s small SUV is also meant to deliver a “go-anywhere-and-back versatility.” As a result, the new HR-V is equipped with Honda’s Magic Seat that buyers can split, fold, and tuck away without any hassle. If we look to the Honda Fit for example, there are four different modes: Tall, Utility, People and Long. The first mode allows consumers to flip the seats up, while the second mode will allow the seats to be folded-flat, increasing cargo space. The ability to fold the second-row completely flat for added volume, as well as the multiple seating configurations, should prove very useful for buyers.

The new vehicle is positioned below Honda’s CR-V model in terms of price and size. The 2015 HR-V will be slightly shorter, lower and lighter than the larger, yet still-compact SUV. As previously mentioned, it is also built on the same global platform as the Honda Fit, and it may very well share the more efficient and powerful 1.5-litre direct-injection 4-cylinder engine to be equipped on the new 2015 Fit hatchback. In the case of the new Fit, the engine can be mated to one of two transmissions: a 6-speed manual, or a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

The 2015 Honda HR-V will be launched this winter, though consumers can keep posted via the Civic Motors Honda website for more information as it becomes available.
